Systemic Yeast Infection

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On September - 28 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
Systemic yeast infections or candida may well be the unknown epidemic of the day and are most often caused by the use of antibiotics. Systemic yeast infections (fungus) are extremely difficult to detect and kill. New information about the underlying cause of yeast infection — a relatively new branch of medical science — is discovering that chronic intestinal and systemic yeast infections are at the root of a host of medical problems including chronic fatigue, allergies, chronic infections, and many, many others. And, as you might expect, these intestinal and systemic yeast infections are also the source of other recurrent and chronic yeast infection conditions such as dandruff and vaginal yeast infection.

It is speculated that 80%-90% of the population is affected by a candida or a systemic yeast infection (men, women and children). If you are very disciplined you may have even tried the infamous candida diet, which attempts to “starve” the candida by depriving it of the foods that are easily converted to the sugar that feeds systemic yeast infections (Low Carb or the GI). Many diseases are often misdiagnosed in humans when the actual underlying cause is Candida Albicans (a systemic yeast infection). Some of the diseases a systemic yeast infection can cause are:arthritis, gout, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, high cholesterol, crohns disease, irritable bowel syndrome, asthma, allergies, acid reflux, arteriosclerosis, psoriasis, eczema, roscea, hives, acne, dandruff, depression. Most of these diseases are of an “unknown” cause.

If your doctor thinks you have a systemic yeast infection, a blood, stool or tissue sample will be tested for the fungus. If your doctor determines that you have a systemic yeast infection, you may get intravenous doses of amphotericin or flucytosine. To combat systemic yeast infection one may use enzymes, which work specifically to help the body return to balance and helps in combating Candida yeast, as well as cleaning out toxins from the body, re-establishing good bacteria and pushing out the yeast and also enables the person to eat better foods. They play a crucial role in combating systemic yeast infection by flushing out the dying Candida yeast toxins out of the body and free radicals at the level of cells. Similar to other types of yeast infections, systemic yeast infection usually occur secondary to anything that weakens the body’s natural barrier against colonizing organisms. The diseases and problems of systemic yeast infections can be quite varied as well as life threatening.

Treatment

Consult your practitioner before beginning or making changes to your diet, supplements, exercise program, diagnosis or treatment of illness or injuries and for advice regarding medications. Systemic yeast infections are unaffected by antibiotics and are able to thrive and take over the body and, as the yeast gets into new territories, it entrenches itself and will continue doing so and makes further advances until some treatment is taken to control and eliminate it.

Fortunately, there is an effective oral treatment option for the treatment of yeast infections. Treat your yeast infection with a single oral dose of Diflucan, the most effective yeast infection treatment. In a recent survey of some 179 women who have used both Diflucan and vaginally inserted creams, 9 out of ten women preferred Diflucan for the treatment of yeast infections. Unlike previous treatment options were messy inserted creams had to be applied, Diflucan offers a one time pill that is just as effective as the seven day application of a cream.

What Causes A Yeast Infection? – The Most Common Causes Of Yeast Infections

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On September - 27 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
So what causes a yeast infection anyway? To start I just wanted to clarify one of the big myths around yeast infections, yes you can get it if you have never had sexual ***********. Of course direct contact will increase your likelihood of catching a yeast infection, but even indirect exposure to the yeast bacteria such as sharing a towel with someone can give you a yeast infection

Environmental factors play a major role in why people get yeast infections because they weaken the immune system and make it easier for yeast infection to thrive. Factors include secondhand smoke, animal hair, dust, sprays, chemicals and mold. Allergies even are a possible factor. Ultimately, it is a compromised immune system can leads to a yeast infection.

So, let\’s talk about other ways your immune system can be compromised. Fatigue, stress, a poor diet all pull a negative toll on your body and thus weaken your immune system. By strengthening your diet, getting rid of stressors in your life and sleeping properly you will do wonders for your yeast infection.

The biggest contributors to reoccurring yeast infections without people\’s knowledge are drugs. The top 3 are antibiotics, birth control pills and believe it or not, doctor prescribed yeast infection drugs! Constantly treating your yeast infection, especially with over the counter drugs will not work. Prescribed medication through a doctor makes the fungus more resistant and harder for your body to fight in the long run. If you have taken any of the 3 drugs in the past few years it is most likely why you have reoccurring yeast infections.

Other reasons include hormone changes, inadequate lubrication during intercourse, increased warmth and moisture in the vaginal area, use of condoms containing spermicide, douching, using perfumed feminine hygiene sprays and soaps, and diabetes.

Natural Yeast Infection Cures

Have you been suffering from a chronic yeast infection that just doesn\’t seem to go away? If so I have some suggestions as to why you\’re suffering from a constant yeast infection and how you can cure it for good.

Why do you have a constant yeast infection?

There are a few reasons for this:

Prescription or OTC drugs – Have you used a drug such as Monistat to treat a previous yeast infection? If so, this could be why you\’re suffering from a constant yeast infection. Drugs such as Monistat have been shown to cause constant yeast infections because they create what are known as super strains of yeast. This drug resistant yeast is very similar to the anti-biotic resistant bacteria that so any people are developing now due to an over-use of anti-biotics. We can learn from the same mistakes by not using these drugs to treat yeast. This super yeast is virtually invincible and will continue to wreak havoc causing constant yeast infection.

Dietary problems – If you eat sugar regularly in the form of anything from straight sugar to fruits and grains you will encourage yeast growth and allow their numbers to skyrocket out of proportion. The best thing to do is to stop eating these foods. This will starve out the yeast and make a significant difference in your fight against a constant yeast infection.

Genital Environment - Do you swim in chlorinated pools often? If so this would be the cause for your constant yeast infection. As chlorine kills beneficial bacteria in your ******** this opens up the gates to yeast infections coming in and causing problems. On top of this make sure to air open your genitals, tight clothing suffocates them and allows yeast to grow at a heightened pace.

How do you eliminate your yeast infection for good? Use natural treatments that are proven to work and provide rapid relief in sometimes only minutes!

Natural Yeast Infection Cures

So what are the common causes of chronic yeast infections? Believe it or not, Candida which causes over 90% of all yeast infections is often passed on from a mother to a newborn baby during birth. It is only when this healthy balance of microorganisms in your body is disrupted that a yeast infection develops. Under normal conditions the fungus Candida lives quite happily in your intestines, your mouth, and your groin and generally on the human skin. The infection when gone awry creates localized problems such as a vaginal yeast infection or a yeast infection of the mouth, thrush.

There are a host of factors that actually cause a infection to multiply explosively and get out of hand. The list of common factors that can cause a yeast infection is so extensive that I am going to select a few common factors that can cause an infection to occur. The first is sugar, the second is a weak immune system and the third is drugs.

Sugar actually feeds a yeast infection. So if you want to alleviate your problem right now you must cut out sugar from your diet in as many ways as possible. Even simple carbohydrates such as white bread, white rice that can readily convert into glucose (sugar) need to be traded for complex carbohydrates such as brown rice and whole wheat bread. Candy, sugary desserts, coke, sugary juices, bottle drinks, energy drinks, sports drinks all need to be cut out. Watch out for foods that contain sugar but you don’t even know, read labels. Ketchup for example contains tons of sugar.

A weak immune system is another major reason why you would develop a yeast infection. a poor diet, smoking, consuming alcohol, and other environmental pollutions will weaken your immune system and allow Candida cells to multiply explosively.

Drugs, specifically yeast infection drugs (ironically), antibiotics and birth control pills will all create conditions for Candidiasis. The only way to cure a yeast infection is through natural means. Yeast infection drugs make the strain more resilient to the body’s natural infection fighting organisms.

These are but a few of the common causes of chronic yeast infections, what’s more important is that right now you could begin to get relief using natural remedies. Most of which cost less than $5 to use!

Avoid the Inconvenience of Yeast Infections

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On September - 24 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
Yeast is a fungus that lives in the ****** in small amounts. When you get a yeast infection it means that too much yeast is growing in the ******. It’s very common for women to get yeast infections. Yeast is also present on the skin and in other areas of moisture like the mouth.

Yeast infections are caused by a type of yeast called Candida, it also causes vaginitis. Inside a healthy ****** there is a lot of good bacteria and not a lot of yeast. Sometimes things happen that causes the balance of bacteria and yeast to disrupt causing yeast cells to become too plenty. Taking antibiotics can cause this, so can diabetes and HIV. Yeast infections can also happen when there is an injury to the inner ******. ******** can also cause yeast infections as well as scented vaginal products and birth control.

There are a few preventative measures you can take to help decrease the amount of y east infections that you get. ******** can cause a yeast infection. It kills the good bacteria that keep the yeast cells under control. Taking vitamin C can boost your immunity so you’re not as prone to getting yeast infections. Oranges, grapefruit, mango, red and green peppers, and spinach are all good sources of Vitamin C. or try taking a supplement.

Wearing cotton underwear will help prevent a yeast infection because the yeast thrives in warm moist areas; the cotton is breathable so it will keep you dry and cool. Using cotton feminine products like tampons and pads will help too. Make sure that when you go swimming you change out of your swim suit right away so you area stays dry. Using colored and scented toilet paper can cause irritation that causes yeast infections. Using powders in the vaginal area to keep dry may however keep you dry but products that are scented and or contain starch can actually help fungus like yeast grow. Eating products that have white refined sugar can cause reoccurring yeast infections because yeast thrives on sugar. Eating fewer sweets can help you prevent yeast infections.

Symptoms of yeast infections are itching and soreness inside the ******. It can cause pain and burning when you urinate or have ***. You can also get thick, clumpy, white or yellowish discharge from the ****** as well. Some people say it looks like cottage cheese and its more likely to happen a week before your menstrual period.

It is recommended that if your symptoms persist after using and over the counter product you should see a doctor. The doctor will more than likely take a culture and do a microscopic analysis in the lab. It is the most accurate way to get diagnosed for a yeast infection. The doctor can give a prescription for and oral antifungal medication or a cream that is topically applied inside the ******. If you are sure that you know the symptoms of a yeast infection then it is ok to use the over the counter medication.

Another thing you can try is an herbal supplement. Alterative Health Supplements offers a product called Bladder and Yeast Infection by Bell. It can be used to cure your bladder infection without having to take an antibiotic that will kill your good bacteria causing a yeast infection. It is also great used as a preventative for yeast and bladder infections. This product is all natural so it is perfectly safe to use. Take 2 capsules a day to treat and 1 everyday for a preventive. Some of the natural ingredients in this product are pumpkin seed, buchu leaf, and golden seal.

Yeast Infection Remedy – Easy and Effective Herbal Treatments

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On September - 23 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
Yeast is the second most common kind of vaginal infection. One of the many species of fungus called Candida causes it. Candida normally lives in small numbers in the ****** as well as in the mouth and digestive tract of both men and women.

Women are more vulnerable to get vaginal yeast infections if their bodies are under stress from poor diet, lack of sleep, illness, or when they are pregnant or taking antibiotics. Women with immune suppressing diseases such as diabetes and HIV infection are also at increased risk.

Symptoms of yeast:

The symptoms of yeast infection may vary from very mild to severe and include:

• Vaginal itch or soreness

• Thick, white, curd like discharge

• Burning discomfort around the vaginal opening, especially when urine touches the area

• Pain during sexual intercourse

• Unpleasant odour from the genitalia

• Itching and burning of the female ******** (vulva)

• Painful urination

• Vulva redness and swelling

Vaginal discharge is not always present and may be minimal, but when present may be:

• cheese like in nature

• thick, whitish-grey discharge

• watery to thick in consistency

Causes of yeast infection:

Since yeast is normal in a women’s vagina, it causes an infection when a change in the balance in a woman’s system occurs. For example, pregnancy, which leads to changes in hormone levels.

Antibiotics can kill the normal vaginal bacteria. Then the yeast, which is usually present in or near a women’s ****** can multiply.

Thus, yeast overgrowth usually occurs as the result of:

• Fatigue

• High stress

• Hormonal fluctuations during the menstrual cycle

• Increased warmth and moisture in the vaginal area

• Menopause

• Not drying the outer vaginal area thoroughly after bathing

• Birth control pills

• Poor diet

• Poorly ventilated underwear

• Poor personal hygiene

• Pregnancy

• Certain drugs

• Use of ‘broad spectrum’ antibiotics

• Vaginal *********** without adequate lubrication

• Sweating

• High diabetes, which raises blood sugar levels making a conducive environment for yeast fungus to grow

Treatment of yeast infection:

Any woman who experiences symptoms of a yeast infection for the first time should visit a doctor. This is important to be sure that the vaginal discharge and discomfort is caused by yeast and not any other sexually transmitted infection.

Vaginal yeast infections are treated with antifungal medicines that are inserted directly into the ****** as tablets, creams, ointments or suppositories.

Treatment of sexual partners is not necessary, since most yeast infections are not transmitted sexually.

How to prevent yeast infection?

Every three out of four women experience at least one yeast infection during her life; many experience recurrent infections.

However, one can reduce the probability of recurrent attacks by practicing some preventive steps –

- Always wear white cotton panties. Nylon and Lycra may trap air and create a breeding ground for yeast.

- Keep the external ******* area clean and dry.

- Avoid antibiotics and steroids, because they destroy the competing bacteria and allow yeast to overgrow.

- Avoid irritating and perfumed soaps, vaginal sprays.

- Change tampons and sanitary napkins frequently.

- After swimming, change quickly into dry clothing instead of sitting in wet bathing suit for prolonged periods.

- Take antibiotics only as prescribed by a doctor.

- If diabetic, try to keep tight control over blood sugar levels.

- Avoid using oral contraceptives if you have a yeast infection.

- Avoid use of petroleum-based lubricants for vaginal lubrication during sexual ***********. Try using water-based lubricants.

- Eating one cup of yogurt a day helps some women prevent the yeast infections that often follow antibiotic treatment. However, eating yogurt will not cure a yeast infection.

- Do not wear underwear at night, as our body needs to dry after a day of clothing which traps heat and moisture.

Dietary recommendations for yeast infection -

Any woman with a yeast infection should be particularly careful about her diet, as some foods promote fungal growth. Try to include -

• Fresh vegetables and fruits

• Fish

• Whole grains

• Essential fatty acids, such as nuts

• Plenty of fresh water

• 1 tablespoon Isabgol husk fibre and/or 1/4 cup Oat bran daily

Avoid:

• Alcohol

• Animal fats

• Caffeine

• Dairy products, such as cheese, ice-cream

• Fast foods

• Pickle, vinegar or any yeast product

• Fermented food

• Hydrogenated oils and margarine

• Processed foods

• Sugar, sweets, chocolates

• White and processed flour products

Thus, as yeast fungus thrives on sugars and carbohydrates – a vegetarian nondairy diet of protein, unrefined grains, and vegetables is best. Onions and garlic are also very helpful. Fresh, raw garlic is the best. Avoid meat-based proteins.

Yeast Infections Cure Reviews

Did you know that there are currently foods in your diet that are feeding yeast in your body right now? What\’s worse is if you continue to eat these foods you will NEVER fully eliminate the yeast. The good news is that the yeast infection diet required for prevention is easy and straightforward. The bad news is it can be quite restrictive and difficult for someone who is accustomed to eating anything and everything without consequence.

Today I\’ll provide you with the 3 yeast infection diet changes that you must make in order to have proper prevention and elimination of a yeast infection.

Yeast Infection Diet Change #1

Stop The Sugar! – So why stop eating sugar, it\’s seems so harmless? Fact, sugar is the main food yeast feed off of and it also increases bodily fermentation which increases the odds of developing various diseases such as cancer. Harmless… far from it!

Yeast Infection Diet Change #2

Stop The Alcohol! – Alcohol is a by product of fermentation in the body, fermentation being the process through which yeast can rapidly grow and develop. So the last thing you want is something in your body that came from fermentation. Why? Because your liver must detoxify all these by products and whether you realize it or not, it is slowly building up and causing various health problems that will manifest in a few short years from now. Also alcohol directly reduces immune system function and kills the good bacteria in your body that is meant to help defend your body against yeast infections.

Yeast Infection Diet Change #3

Stop The Yeast! – If you\’re already fighting off a yeast infection the last thing you want to do is put more yeast into your body. The yeast in your food may not create the yeast that causes the infection. It does however provide all the necessary nutrition to the yeast infection with the exception of sugar. If you continue to eat foods with yeast and sugar such as donuts you will have continued yeast infections and the severity will only get worse!

In addition to a yeast infection diet, there are natural treatments you must do in order to eliminate the yeast infection quickly and permanently.

Yeast Infection Cures

Are you currently suffering from the burning, itching, pain and odor that is a vaginal yeast infection? If so I\’m here to explain to you exactly what kills yeast infections and better yet how you can begin to get relief within 10 minutes of reading this article!

So before I get into what eliminates yeast infections, let\’s look at what doesn\’t kill yeast infections…

Drugs: This includes Monistat, Canesten and the various other anti-yeast infection drugs. In one online poll conducted recently a whopping 56% of women indicated that Monistat caused severe symptoms. What\’s even more incredible is the fact that only 11% said they used Monistat without experiencing side effects. So its 9 in 10 odds that you\’ll have some form of side effects using this drug.

Going beyond this these drugs are known to create what are known as super strains of yeast. So instead of killing a yeast infection they actually reinforce the infection, oddly enough forcing you to use a stronger drug and more of it the next time. Drug companies love it because they begin to own your health! Don\’t let them do this!

So what kills yeast infections permanently?

Natural Yeast Infection Treatments – There is a lot to this, and its not fair to simply lump them all together like this because there is a lot of variety when it comes to what kill yeast infections naturally.

The reason natural cures are what kill yeast infections are due to the fact that they work with your body in eliminating the infection. Drugs don\’t do this and this is the vital flaw in why they can never fully eliminate your yeast infection. Natural treatments balance out vaginal PH and also the natural flora balance of the vagina; this rapidly kills off yeast infections and provides relief in a fraction of the time that drugs can offer. What is even better is the fact that super strains of yeast are not created and you can be happy that you\’ve done something for yourself that wasn\’t toxic in any way and worked fast.

Do Natural Yeast Infection Cures Really Work?

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On September - 21 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
Every month, thousands of women search the Internet for a natural cure for yeast infections. This makes sense, since vaginal yeast infections are so common, and medications for this condition can be expensive. Some women are also concerned that antifungal drugs can be too harsh, and would prefer a natural remedy that is milder and safer to use.

So, do natural yeast infection cures really work?

The short answer is “Yes, they do work for many women.”

The more complete answer is “Yes, sometimes they work. But you need more facts about yeast infections before you decide if a natural remedy is right for you.”

Unfortunately, many claims are made by Internet marketing firms promising a “natural cure” that is “guaranteed” to get rid of your current infection and keep it from coming back. Most of these remedies are based on a treatment plan first promoted by Dr. C. Orian Truss, M.D., way back in 1978. There are several reasons why health care providers are concerned about these remedies:

1. These treatments were not created for vaginal yeast infections – they were promoted as the cure-all for a condition Dr. Truss called “systemic candidiasis.” This condition was thought to cause a wide variety of symptoms, including lethargy, fatigue, food cravings, depression, infertility, and vaginal yeast infections, plus many more. The theory was that “if you don’t feel good, and your doctor can’t find anything wrong, you have Candida.”

2. Although this theory was first written about 29 years ago, it has never been proven that any of the symptoms listed, except vaginal yeast infections, are actually caused by Candida yeast. And the powerful herbal remedies and complicated diets have never been proven to be effective in treating any of these symptoms, including vaginal yeast infections. And they have never been proven to be safe.

3. The remedies include “natural” herbal products that are anti-microbial – this means they can destroy the beneficial bacteria in the gut that are your body’s first line of defense against yeast infections.

Supposedly, you can replenish your beneficial bacteria by eating yogurt or taking supplements that contain live cultures, but your colon is host to over 500 different species of bacteria, and many of them are needed by your body. Yogurt will replace only one or two of these species, and a new strain of yeast could colonize your gut while your bacteria population is still being rebuilt. That means that taking some of these powerful herbal remedies could actually make your current yeast infection worse instead of better.

To protect yourself against false claims promoted by people selling “guaranteed cures” for yeast infections, it makes sense to learn all you can about this common condition.

Once you know what causes vaginal yeast infections, you’ll see why the old-wives’ tales about yogurt, vinegar and garlic are actually more helpful and truthful than many marketing claims selling complicated and expensive herbal remedies.

These simple remedies that you can buy at the grocery store often do cure a mild yeast infection. And in most cases, simple changes in your diet and daily habits can keep yeast infections from coming back.

If the mild remedies your grandmother used don’t cure your yeast infection you should get yourself to a doctor, because there could be several reasons why the infection doesn’t go away:

- You could have an infection that is caused by something other than Candida. If you have an infection caused by bacteria or parasites, the infection could eventually damage your reproductive organs, and must be treated promptly by prescription medications.

- You may have a yeast infection that isn’t mild enough for the natural remedies to work. In this case, your doctor can recommend an over-the-counter topical cream that should cure your infection within a few days.

- Your yeast infections may actually be caused by an underlying condition that has upset your hormone balance or damaged your immune system. Many women are first diagnosed with diabetes when they go to their doctor about their chronic yeast infections.

So, do natural remedies work? Yes, sometimes they do. But you need far more information than that before you make an intelligent, informed choice about treating your vaginal yeast infection.

Do You Know the Common Causes of Yeast Infections?

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On September - 21 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
Most any woman who has had a yeast infection can explain every painful, irritating, and overly itchy detail with burning accuracy. What many women do not know is the cause of yeast infection. This means they can only hope to avoid getting another, which they ultimately will if they aren’t properly protecting themselves against yeast infections.

Vaginal yeast infections are the most commonly known types of yeast infection although there are others. Thrush is common in babies, the elderly, diabetics and people who take steroids. Others who commonly have yeast infections include people who have weak immune systems. The broad cause of yeast infections in all of these people is an overgrowth of candidiasis, a fungus from the Candida family that is naturally present in the body.

To be able to prevent yeast infections you have to understand the causes. When Candida has the opportunity, or the right circumstances, a rapid growth will happen. This overgrowth puts the body out of balance and causes the symptoms of yeast infection. Yeast, being a fungus, needs to have warmth, moisture, and darkness to grow.

Wearing tight clothing holds the heat and moisture (usually from sweat) close, in women this will cause the perfect conditions in the ****** for yeast to grow. So wearing tight clothing is one of the often overlooked causes of yeast infections.

Other causes of yeast infections include high blood sugar levels. Diabetics who do not have their blood sugar levels under control run the risk of vaginal yeast infections and thrush. Both are painful. Yeast feeds on glucose (sugar) and when the blood glucose levels are high it creates a perfect opportunity for the fungus to grow. Wearing appropriate clothing doesn’t help your mouth, it is always warm and wet so it is at risk if your blood sugar isn’t under control.

Wearing damp under clothing, including swim suits or sweaty gym clothing, is also on the list of common causes of yeast infections. The moisture can cause yeast infections on the skin in creases and under ‘fat rolls’ as well as increasing your chances of getting a vaginal yeast infection. Many people do not realize that Candida can flourish on the skin’s surface in areas where skin folds are touching. This can be an ongoing problem for overweight people.

Perhaps the most common cause of yeast infections is antibiotic usage. Taking antibiotics kills bacteria in the body; this can cause a change in the balance and an overgrowth of Candida which, of course, causes yeast infections. People who are prone to yeast infections can take an oral antibiotic/anti-fungal that will help by preventing the imbalance that causes yeast infections.

Another common misconception is that people get yeast infections from not being clean so using ******* and washing excessively will help this. In reality, washing excessively and ******** more frequently than suggested can cause a yeast infection. The excessive washing can kill enough bacteria that is supposed to be on the skin causing an overgrowth of Candida. Sudsy bath products can also cause yeast infections. Bubble baths aren’t healthy for the female ********* and shouldn’t be used unless care is taken to rinse thoroughly and not allow suds to come in contact with the ******.

Knowing what to look for and what causes yeast infections can help you to prevent future infections, and any woman who has had one will agree; preventing a yeast infection is much better than treating one.
