Infant Yeast Infection

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On August - 30 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
You may not know it but there is an infant yeast infection. Any baby can get an infant yeast infection which commonly occurs in the moist diaper area. Infant yeast infection is possible because the infection can be transmitted through child birth if the mother is infected with yeast. Infant yeast infections can also be caused by the mother failing to keep female infants clean in the vaginal area. Infant yeast infections also can be caused by inappropriate bathing of the child. An infant yeast infection will typically start out like a diaper rash, but it won’t go away and it won’t heal like a diaper rash.

It can sometimes be difficult to tell the difference between infant yeast infection or diaper rash. That does not eliminate infant yeast infection as the diaper area is often affected. The second most common form of infant yeast infection is oral thrush in the infant’s mouth. An infant yeast infection can happen on the skin, such as in the folds of skin in the diaper area that remain moist all of the time and see little air flow. During the birthing process, a mother may pass the yeast in her ****** to the baby’s skin, causing an infant yeast infection. Also, if the baby ***** his or her thumb or fingers, an infant yeast infection of the cuticles can develop. However, if an infant yeast infection does ensue no matter how careful the caregivers are, there are several ways in which the pediatrician will treat the infection. In the case of infant yeast infection in the diaper area, a special topical ointment will be prescribed, along with directions to keep the diaper off the baby as much as possible to increase the passage of air and allow the infant yeast infection to dry up on its own.

The plastic covers that some babies wear over their reusable diapers are a really bad idea for an infant yeast infection, because the plastic is a moisture barrier, and that is precisely the opposite of how to treat an infant yeast infection. Generally, though, yeast infections, particularly infant yeast infections, are most likely in those who have a weak immune system to begin with. In other words, an infant yeast infection is most likely to develop in the sickly child. Also a baby on antibiotics is more susceptible since the medication will kill the healthy bacteria that help to keep down an infant yeast infection. You should take a baby to the doctor to have an infection properly diagnosed especially if you haven’t dealt with an infection of this kind before. If the same child has a recurrent problem of yeast infections then perhaps your doctor can help with some suggestions on how you canprevent an infant yeast infection.

Infant

Typical yeast infection in infants is thrush. It is a condition where you can find white patches and sore in the infant’s mouth. There is nothing more sad than an infant in distress, and an infant with a yeast infection is the same. Since a yeast infection spreads through an infant’s digestive tract, a yeast infection can involve the mouth (thrush) and the diaper area. Try looking at your infant’s diaper rash to find out if the rash has lots of bumps, pus-filled bumps, or a pattern. If you are worried and a first-time parent, by all means, have the infant’s doctor take a look at the rash. If your infant does in fact, have a yeast infection, your doctor will most likely recommend any of numerous over-the-counter (cream) remedies for anti-fungal purposes.

Symptoms

In some instances, the infant or child could experience full blown systemic-candidiasis-symptoms. However to those that suffer from the symptoms of a candida infection, the pain and effect on their lifestyle is very real. It is our hope that one day, candida will be recognized as the menace it is, so that all can be free of the debilitating symptoms and confusion it inflicts on the lives of those who suffer from it. Yeast infections generally include a variety of symptoms; redness, dryness, burning, and itching.

Cause Of Yeast Infection

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On August - 30 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
The cause of yeast infection is linked directly to an imbalance of the fungus Candida albicans. To help prevent and cure this though, the first thing that should be known is, what is the cause of yeast infection. Well, to begin with it should be stated that there is no one cause of yeast infection, there are many and they run the gamut from simple stress in life to hormonal changes to transference through sexual ***********. And since there is no actual one cause of yeast infection that can be pinpointed and isolated to avoid getting a yeast infection, it is best if you can be aware of most of them.

One of cause of yeast infection is if you take antibiotics. Another cause of yeast infection occurs due to stress. This same hormonal change is a prime factor in the cause of yeast infection of pregnant or lactating women, and women who are menopausal. For men, the most common cause of yeast infection is through sexual *********** with a woman affected with a yeast infection.

Other factors that can be a major cause of yeast infection in women include the use of douches, scented feminine hygiene products, feminine sprays, and the regular use of spermicides. Another cause of yeast infection that is largely overlooked is clothing. Close fitting clothes keep air from circulating around the affected areas and create the warm, moist environment that yeast needs to grow. There is no doubting the fact that preventing yeast infection is much better than curing it, which means one should know what the cause of yeast infection is and act in an appropriate manner to avoid the disease from affecting one, rather than not pay enough attention and then run about looking for ways to treat the disease.

If it is vaginal yeast infection that one is concerned about, the cause of yeast infection is certainly attributable to Candida Albicans which is a nasty organism that live in the ****** and if it is allowed to multiply will cause yeast infection in the ******. Even use of condoms while having sexual *********** can result in vaginal yeast infection. Even if one does try and reduces yeast products in one’s diet, there is still no clinching evidence to suggest that doing so will prevent yeast infection. Yet another cause of yeast infection is not having proper personal hygiene, the presence of moisture is also what the microorganisms need to thrive in and thus a woman having menstrual periods would be more likely to suffer from yeast infection.

Use of some agents that are especially irritating such as bubble baths, vaginal *******. In addition, certain soaps that are of harsh nature and even toilet paper that has been perfumed, some detergents that are used to wash undergarments can also become a cause of yeast infection. Also, washing of the vaginal area more than is necessary and that with tap water will make for another cause of yeast infection. Thus, there is a pressing need to identify the basic cause of yeast infection so as to make it considerably easier to prevent and also cure the disease from developing further.

The most common cause of yeast infection is antibiotics and their overuse. The most common foods that can be a cause of yeast infections in America are beef and dairy. Other foods that can be a cause of yeast infections are grain foods, peanuts, corn, and red apples, which will actually grow mold on them as they grow. If I were to find one word that would encompass all of these terms – yeast, Candida Albicans, fungus, parasites, mushrooms, overgrowth – the cause of yeast infection would be TOXINS. Knowing the cause of yeast infection helps us understand why our body may exhibit symptoms of diseases. Effective yeast infection prevention begins with knowing what can cause of yeast infection.

Yeast Infection Causes – Treatment and Prevention

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On August - 29 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
What is Yeast Infection?

Yeast is a fungus scientifically referred to as Candida. The specific type of fungus most commonly responsible for vaginitis is Candida albicans. Yeast is commonly present on normal human skin and in areas of moisture, such as the mouth and ******.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that about 80 percent of all women will experience a vaginal yeast infection at least once in their lives. In fact, it is estimated that 50% of college women in the United States have been diagnosed with at least one yeast infection by the age of 25. Luckily, yeast infections are fairly easy to treat.

Yeast infection itself is not considered as highly dangerous, however, it can be very irritating and disturbing especially among women who are already preoccupied with other responsibilities or tasks. On the other hand, like most infections, it is highly transferable to other individuals including the opposite ***. Certain conditions of the body may make it easier for a person to acquire this disease such as diabetes and use of antibiotics.

Other health problems which are usually associated with yeast infection include urinary tract infections and possible complications during pregnancy. However, these are not scientifically-based and are yet to be proven or negated in future studies.

What causes Yeast Infection?

Most yeast infections are caused by a type of yeast called Candida albicans.

A healthy ****** has many bacteria and a small number of yeast cells. The most common bacteria, Lactobacillus acidophilus, help keep other organisms-like the yeast-under control.

When something happens to change the balance of these organisms, yeast can grow too much and cause symptoms. Taking antibiotics sometimes causes this imbalance. The high estrogen levels caused by pregnancy or hormone replacement therapy can also cause it. So can certain health problems, like diabetes or HIV infection.

Symptoms

Symptoms include severe itching, burning, and soreness, irritation of the ****** and/or vulva, and a whitish or whitish-gray discharge, often with a curd-like appearance.

Many women mistake the symptoms of the more common bacterial vaginosis for a yeast infection. In a 2002 study published in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, only 33 percent of women who were self treating for a yeast infection actually had a yeast infection. Instead they had either bacterial vaginosis or a mixed-type infection.

In men, symptoms include red patchy sores near the head of the ***** or on the foreskin, severe itching and/or a burning sensation. Yeast infection in men can also have a white discharge, although uncommon. However, having no symptoms at all is common and usually, a more severe form of the symptoms emerge later.

What are the treatments for Yeast Infection?

Various oral medications such as Diflucan or fluconazole and topical treatments may be prescribed by doctors to cure yeast infection. Home remedies such as using yogurt and garlic, whether internally and externally, can also be done. It is, however, important to consult a doctor first prior to applying any of the available remedies to avoid complications and further harm.

Yeast Infection Prevention

Once you’ve had a yeast infection, you’ll probably never want it again. Unfortunately, yeast infections do tend to recur. To help lower your chances of experiencing another yeast infection, or to prevent getting one in the first place, here are some things you can do:

* Consider taking a daily supplement designed to help prevent the recurrence of a yeast infection

* Keep you vaginal area clean, being sure to wash the area when you shower

* After a shower or bath, make sure your vaginal area is completely dry before getting dressed

Yeast Infection Book Review – How To Cure Yeast Infections Book Review

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On August - 28 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
So I consider myself quite the online book reading aficionado, I own "real" books but I find at the end of the day when it comes down to it, I would rather cuddle up with my lap top and read anything and everything I can find online. It’s great also for those times when I need some help with something. As in my case, I doubt most people have yeast infection self help guides sitting around, neither do I.

Which Brings me to my Review of How to Cure Vaginal Yeast Infections

I settled on purchasing the online E-Book How to Cure Vaginal Yeast Infections at the website HowtoCureYeastInfecitons dot com after not being satisfied with many of the others I came across. She had quite a few ebooks added in with the purchase free of charge as well which was nice and I’m sure I’ll get around to them soon enough. She also claims 24/7 professional 1 on 1 online help which I planned on testing out to see how much truth there was to this.

It was Everything I ever wanted to know about Yeast Infections and More, what FUN! Haha.

I’m happy to say that this is not only the best e-book I read through in a while but also the most surprisingly pleasant experience I’ve had yet with an online purchase especially considering I was going through a yeast infection at the time. The reason for this was the customer support Jessica provides. I asked her about anything and everything I could think of, and she always seemed to have the perfect response and not only did she answer me every time within just a few hours, but she truly seemed to want to help me and wanted to make sure I was recovering. In a time when many people would have been all too happy to make a buck with no strings attached, Jessica seems to almost enjoy doing the 1 on 1 consultations, or at least that was the impression she left with me.

The book itself was great too, as far as treating vaginal yeast infection books go. It was cleanly laid out so I could easily reference anything inside, and the information was straightforward and easy to understand as well. She provides the full explanation of the various modern yeast infection treatments such as drugs, she analyses the causes and most importantly explains the natural treatments which make up a greater part of the book and is the reason I bought it in the first place. She also includes a very detailed diet and lifestyle suggestions on exactly what to avoid doing in order to not further worsen the infection and to not experience another one down the road. As well there is a section in there specifically for oral, skin, nail and baby yeast infections.

The only downside if any, is that her section on pregnant women experiencing yeast infections is limited in use. However this is understandably more to do with the fact that no one wants to risk suggesting treatments that have unknown consequences to a developing fetus, although she still tries to make the most of it by maximizing what suggestions she can. So it is still of some use to women in this situation, besides you can always just use her 24/7 support and get your answers that way.

All in all between asking a few questions and using the suggestions in her book I achieved complete success over my yeast infection within 3 days of buying the book. However I only really started treating myself a day after reading through it so technically it only took me 2 days for total relief and by using some of their suggested treatments to reduce the symptoms I only really suffered through the worst of it for about 3-4 hours before using them.

Overall between the excellent professional online support Jessica provides and the very effective and easy to use book I give the whole package a 9.5/10. I highly recommend it to anyone suffering through a vaginal yeast infection as it will help get you want you want, relief! I’ll also mention here that the author has a male yeast infection guide as well which although I didn’t read through still comes with the 1 on 1 consultation support so I imagine men could find quite a bit of relief through that e-book as well. Happy Yeast Eliminating!

Natural Yeast Infection Cures

This is Definately the Root Cause of Yeast Infection

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On August - 26 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
The cause of yeast infection is connected directly to a discrepancy of the fungus Candida Albicans which is a horrible organism that live in the ****** and if it is allowed to multiply will cause yeast infection in the ******. To aid prevention and cure of this however, the first thing that should be identified is the cause of yeast infection. Well, to start with it should be affirmed that the cause of yeast infection is not one but there are many ranging from any form of stress in life to hormonal variations and yet through sexual ***********. And in view of the fact that there is no clear-cut single cause of yeast infection that can be located and secluded to keep away from getting a yeast infection, it is paramount if one can be conscious of most of them.

One of cause of yeast infection is if you take antibiotics. Sometimes antibiotics could do much a worse job in the body than expected to do, because they could end up harming even the bacteria that are beneficial to the body, a condition that then trigger yeast fungi to start growing and infecting the body. Another cause of yeast infection occurs due to stress and anxiety a situation that may cause hormonal disturbance and hence yeast infection could be a very possible consequence. This same hormonal change is a prime factor in the cause of yeast infection during pregnancy or to women who could be ****** feeding, and women who are menopausal.

A woman who is infected by the yeast fungi could contaminate his sexual partner during sexual relations. Other factors that can be a major cause of yeast infection in women include the use of *** toys that could even be shared and thus potential of passing the fungi from one person to another, fragrant womanly hygiene products, female sprays and deodorants, could cause a turmoil to the perfect balance naturally maintained in their ******* organ. Another cause of yeast infection that is largely disregarded is clothing. Close fitting clothes keep air from circulating around the affected areas and create the warm, moist environment that is conducive for yeast to grow. what is more one need to know what the cause of yeast infection is and act in an appropriate approach to elude the disease, rather than not pay enough interest and then dash about searching for ways to treat the disease.

The use of condoms while having sexual *********** can result in vaginal yeast infection. Even if one does try and reduce yeast products in one’s diet, there is still no confirming evidence to suggest that doing so will prevent yeast infection. In addition, another cause of yeast infection is not having proper personal hygiene, the presence of moisture is also what the microorganisms need to flourish in and thus a woman having menstrual periods would be more likely to suffer from yeast infection. They thus need bathe at least twice a day and wear loose clothes to allow air circulation.

In addition, certain soaps that are of insensitive nature and even toilet paper that has been perfumed, some detergents that are used to wash undergarments can also become a cause of yeast infection. Also, bathing of the vaginal area more than is essential and that with tap water will make for another cause of yeast infection. Thus, there is an imperative requirement to spot the fundamental cause of yeast infection so as to make it considerably easier to put off and also alleviate the disease so it doesn’t develop further.

The most common foods that can be a cause of yeast infections in America are beef and dairy. Other foods that can be a cause of yeast infections are grain foods, peanuts, corn, and red apples, which will really cultivate mold on them as they become stale. Ultimately we could blame Candida Albicans as the root cause of yeast infection. Effective yeast infection preclusion begins with knowing the cause of yeast infection.

Do you find that you chronically get yeast infections? If so then this article will provide solutions you can implement into your life immediately. Stop being a victim and never suffer from them again.

Here are some major considerations you need to think about if you are constantly getting yeast infections.

1. Do you wear tight pants or swimwear often? This is a major contributor to chronic yeast infections as it suffocates the ******** and creates the ideal environment for yeast to flourish in. 2. Do you eat a lot of sugar or refined foods? If so this is going to heavily increase your chances of developing yeast infections for various reasons. Yeast Infection Cures

Are you currently going through a yeast infection and considering your options for treatment. Are you thinking of using drugs for a yeast infection? If so then this article is here to explain the dangers of yeast infection drugs like monistat and why they are NEVER a good option! I’ll start off by discussing drugs in relation to yeast infections and finish with natural treatments and their place.

So is Monistat good for a yeast infection?

There are many drugs like Monistat such as Femstat, Vagistat and so on which promise to destroy your yeast infection in a short period of time. There are some things you should consider before you jump right in though.

#1. Side effects - These yeast infection drugs generally induce more side effects than most people realize. A recent online poll actually indicated that a whopping 50% of women experienced severe side effects while taking Monistat. What’s worse is that only 10% indicated that they experienced no side effects at all. That’s a 9 in 10 chance of experiencing some form of side effects. Not the best odds.

#2. Resilient Strains - If side effects weren’t bad enough there’s also the fact that drugs like these have been shown to cause strains of yeast to mutate into resilient forms that are resistant to drugs and virtually any other form of treatment. The obvious problem of which are the re-current chronic yeast infections that become the result of using these drugs.

So what are my other options?

Well the best way to eliminate a yeast infection is through natural treatments that do not create resilient strains and that actually help your body destroy the infection, so that way the next time one comes along you’re body is “trained” in a sense. On top of all this these natural treatments are safe, inexpensive and actually work, sometimes within just a few hours you’re in complete relief. So is Monistat good for a yeast infection? Absolutely not avoid it like the plague if you can.

Vaginal Yeast Infection is Seldom Serious

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On August - 24 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

Causes of yeast infections are many and before you know them, it is good to first have a clear understanding of what yeast infection is. A yeast infection is an overgrowth of yeast in your vagina, leading to uncomfortable symptoms such as: itching and burning in and around your ****** burning sensation when ********* (peeing) vaginal pain or discomfort during *** vaginal discharge that may look like cottage cheese (it may also be thinner or absent). Although a yeast infection is not a sexually transmitted disease, it is possible to pass it back and forth between sexual partners.

Yeast is commonly present on normal human skin and in areas of moisture, such as the mouth and ******. Yeast normally live in the ****** in small numbers, but when the bacteria in the ****** become out of balance, too many yeast grow and cause an infection. Yeast infections can cause severe discomfort but rarely cause serious health problems.

Yeast infection causes include:

Using medications that contain steroids;

Using antibiotics;

Being diabetic or having elevated blood sugar levels;

Using the birth control pill or another form of hormonal contraception;

Hormonal changes due to menstrual cycle or pregnancy;

Frequently wearing tight pants or pantyhose…

Yeast infections are a very common and most women, about 70% of them, will get a yeast infection at least once intheir lifetimes. And some of these women will get recurring yeast infections. Women usually do not get yeast infections from ***. Instead, a weakened immune system is the most common cause of yeast infections. Most physicians discourage women from diagnosing and treating themselves with over-the-counter medications, because symptoms may be produced by more serious vaginal infections, such as bacterial vaginosis or trichomoniasis. Trichomoniasis produces symptoms that are similar to other vaginal infections, but it is much more serious and requires specific treatment. A variety of alternative treatments exist to help cure bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections.

In a healthy vagina, there is a balance of several basic “components” that work together including bacteria, yeast, hormones and glycogen and natural secretions. When the healthy balance in the ****** is disturbed, the yeast overgrows. Most vaginal infections present no risk to your health, though they can be quite uncomfortable. Your health professional can usually diagnose a yeast infection just by finding discharge that looks like cottage cheese during a pelvic exam.

A mild vaginal yeast infection may correct itself without treatment. However, you are not likely to be able to go without treatment if you develop severe symptoms. Thankfully, treatment is readily available, both over-the-counter solutions as well as alternative, drug-free treatments. Perhaps the greatest risks you face when treating a vaginal yeast infection are related to self-diagnosis and self-treatment. Providing that you have had a diagnosed yeast infection before, correctly diagnose your condition based on past symptoms, and self-treat with a nonprescription treatment as directed, your risks are minimal.

Medications for yeast infections consists of creams and suppositories, both sold over the counter as well as oral medications, which require a prescription. The medical treatment of yeast infection centre around medications that slow the growth of the yeast. While there are many over-the-counter medications available, it is important to have a proper diagnosis of a yeast infection before you start using these strong medications, especially if this is your first yeast infection. If you had a yeast infection before and are sure it is the same infection again, it is safe to use over-the-counter antifungal medications. While medications can destroy a particular infection, they don’t prevent future infections. If over the counter medications seem to temporarily relieve your infection, but the infection quickly returns, you may be a victim of a chronic yeast infection.

Learning to recognize the symptoms of vaginal yeast infection is vital before women attempt self-treatment. Conventional medical treatment for vaginal yeast infection is based on taking drugs or using topical creams. Once the yeast infection is confirmed, it is usually easily treated by over-the-counter treatments or prescription medications. Among the most effective natural treatments for yeast infection is the use of probiotics, or what is commonly called friendly bacteria or beneficial bacteria.
