Signs, Symptoms and Treatment of a Yeast Infection

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On August - 31 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
nfection is simply a fungal infection. Its clinical name is candidiasis. A yeast infection occurs when fungus in the body is placed in an environment which allows it to grow and spread. The fungus then becomes overgrown in the body leading to a yeast infection. There are many causes for a yeast infection and in most cases is easily treated and cured. In some cases yeast infections can become resistant to treatment and become life threatening.

The most common causes for yeast infections are the use of antibiotics and steroids. These medications kill the bacteria that live with the yeast that is usually in the body. Once the bacterium is killed it allows the yeast to over grow and form an unsafe level of yeast in the body. This is known as a yeast infection. Other causes for a yeast infection include a weak immune system, birth control pills, pregnancy, diabetes, and obesity.

Yeast thrives in moist, warm and dark places. The mouth, vagina, skin folds, diaper area and arm pits are the most common locations for yeast infections because they are the perfect breeding grounds for yeast. Those who are overweight can find yeast infections on the skin due to skin folds. Yeast is common under the ****** and lower abdomen because of the excess weight. Yeast infections are most common in women and infants, but men can also have yeast infections. Penile yeast infections are not common but can occur if a sexual partner has a yeast infection.

Depending upon where the yeast infection occurs there will be different signs and symptoms. In a vaginal yeast infection the infected area will have an extreme itch, sore and even a white cheesy discharge. A yeast infection of the mouth otherwise known as thrush will also have pain associated with it and the throat, tongue and checks will have white creamy milk like discharge which is difficult to wipe away. The last type of yeast infection known as a superficial yeast infection is one that occurs on the surface of the skin. This type of yeast infection will be seen as a red rash with scalloped edges. This type of rash is commonly found in the diaper area of infants and under skin folds.

Treatments of yeast infections use basically the same type of medication but in different forms for each type of infection. For the most common vaginal yeast infections treatment can be performed at home with over the counter anti fungal medication. Monistat and Femstat are two of the most common at home treatments for a vaginal yeast infection. A cream or ovule is placed in the ****** and left there for 1-7 days until the infection has cleared.

Yeast infections of the skin can also be treated with an over the counter anti fungal lotion like Lotrimin. In infants doctors will prescribe an ointment safe for children, usually called nystatin. Yeast infections of the mouth will require a prescription mouth wash. This mouth wash also contains an anti fungal medication in it. Young children with thrush are limited to this type of treatment while adults can also use a prescription medication along with the mouth wash treatment.

There are also home remedies that can be used to successful treat yeast infections as well as a prescription medication called Diflucan. If you are prone to getting yeast infection it is wise to start the Diflucan medication along with antibiotic or steroid treatments.

Yeast Infection Itch Remedy – Home Remedy For Vaginal Itch Relief

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On August - 31 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
Do you want an awesome yeast infection itch remedy that is entirely natural, with zero side effects and 100% results? If so read on as I present to you some of the most effective home remedies for vaginal itch relief.

Yeast infection itch remedy #1: Aloe Vera - The plant extract of aloe vera is a substantial way to have a significant reduction in irritation and swelling as well as burning and most importantly itching. Be sure to apply as needed and only use one that is at least 99%+ pure.

Yeast infection itch remedy #2: Slippery Elm – The powdered bark of the slippery elm tree is an excellent way to reduce irritation and can be easily used in conjunction with the other treatments mentioned. What you need to do is apply a small amount of the powder with a small amount of water and mix them into a paste that you can apply liberally in and around your ******. You should find that irritation diminishes quite a bit by its use.

Yeast infection itch remedy #3: Frozen Unsweetened Yogurt - If you freeze some yogurt into popsicles or ice cubes they can do two things at once by effectively reducing itching, swelling and burning when applied. They can also kill off any developing yeast growth. Make sure to use only unsweetened as sugar will increase the growth of the yeast and make the infection far worse.

Yeast infection itch remedy #4: Move Around – What I mean by this is that if you sit all day with a yeast infection it will only make it much worse no matter what other treatments you try. This is because it encourages a moist and warm environment which is the last thing you want with a yeast infection. So get up often and move around if you can or simply change positions and open your legs as often as possible.

Yeast Infection: Effective Ways To Reduce Yeast Infections

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On August - 31 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
Most women suffer yeast infections, few understand why. The immune system plays a pivotal role in preventing yeast infections or candida. Reducing, preventing and eliminating yeast infection, naturally…

The incidence of yeast infections seems to be growing, yet it is often looked upon as a common ailment that is endemic to women. Many men suffer yeast infections and it is just as painful and inconveniently located as for women.

Typically a topical cream or antibiotic (either oral or inserted vaginally) is the approach taken when a yeast infection needs to be addressed, but there may be common sense ways to prevent infection as well as suggestions on treatment options.

What is a Yeast Infection?

When your body produces too much yeast it often results in an infection. Since yeast is common in or on the skin, penis, mouth and ****** these are areas where a yeast infection can occur (although there are generally more incidence in women than men).

How Yeast Grows

The ****** helps prevent the growth of yeast through a caustic (for the yeast) acidic environment. This environment can be altered negatively by menstruation, as well as the use of birth control pills, diabetes and certain antibiotics. These agents work to lower the acid normally found in the ******. When this happens, yeast, which is common in the ****** in small amounts, can find an atmosphere for rapid growth.

The use of synthetic materials in underwear or lingerie can also contribute to yeast infections by trapping moisture which also creates an atmosphere conducive to excess yeast production.

Why Yeast Infection Occurs

Ph balance in the body is the key. Yeast is prevalent in the body at all times. Yeast infection will occur when the acid ph of the body is lowered. The immune system regulates the acid balance in the body. Your diet is the leading factor to help the immune system keep a healthy balance. The body has a healthy ph of 6.4 (when measuring urine or saliva), the further away, greater or lower, from this natural reading you have, will cause greater disease and illness such as yeast infection.

Stress is one of the largest causes of unbalanced ph readings in the body. Blood ph is higher than body ph. Injury, overweight, antibiotics and birth control pills all alter the natural ph of the body. Fatigue is often overlooked as a stress factor. Your ph reading does vary slightly through the day but should average 6.4 for the day.

What Not To Do

Some may be following advice that is actually harmful, so it is important to know what has been offered in the past as an effective alternative that will not help cure a yeast infection, and may actually accelerate yeast growth or do long term damage to the ******.

You should never use baking soda in attempting to cure a yeast infection. Baking soda has a high ph causing the yeast to proliferate.

You should never use Echinacea in your attempt to cure a yeast infection. While it may be good to take orally as a means of reducing the effects of a cold, when vaginally inserted it can cause acute burning sensations.

You should also never use bleach in eliminating the effects of a yeast infection. Bleach can actually burn vaginal tissue and result in scarring.

You should avoid ******** because it reduces normal and healthy vaginal secretions by drying out the vaginal surface.

Effective Ways to Reduce Yeast Infections

Reducing grains, sugar and most processed foods from your diet can also help reduce available yeast in your body.

Raw vegetables are not only good for you, they can help combat yeast infections

The persistent use and regular washing of either cotton or silk intimate apparel is also an effective way to reduce the incidence of yeast infections.

Nature’s Assistance

Acidophilus is a culture that contains plenty of good bacteria and can help your body fight a yeast infection. It is also a primary ingredient in most yogurt.

Colloidal silver has also proven successful for many women due to the fact that this mineral is highly effective in eliminating more than 600 diseases.

Tea tree oil has also proven an effective ally in the fight against yeast infections and can be inserted vaginally.

If you have suffered several episodes of yeast infections it may make sense to try a more natural management approach as well as effective prevention methods. By learning about how yeast is formed and regulated in your body you might discover new ways to personally assist your own future health.

Cure Penile Yeast Infection Fast

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On August - 31 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
Yes, you can cure penile yeast infection fast, in fact, in as little as 12 hours. Penile yeast infection is more common than you might imagine, so you are not alone. It can be treated in a number of ways, and, there is no reason why you cannot achieve a fast, complete cure if you follow certain lifestyle guidelines along with your treatment regime.

Penile yeast infection shows up in a number of ways; inflamed / red head, ulcer-like spots on the head, dry / flaked foreskin, unusual discharge, very bad itching, pain when *********.

There may be other signs such as; regular headaches, migraine, depression, sore/swollen joints, irritability, and even memory loss. And these are not all, there is a whole list of signs that could be associated with yeast infection.

The real cause of penile yeast infection is a yeast / fungus called Candida Albicans which resides in most of us quite naturally. Normally it doesn’t cause you any bother until it grows out of control and appears as a yeast infection.

The kind of events, or, situations that trigger this overgrow are; a lowered immune system (can’t fight infection), diabetes (high sugar levels in urine aid yeast growth), antibiotics (kills good bacteria as well as bad), bad diet (yeast, sugar, carbohydrates, dairy produce, etc., aid yeast growth), sexual *********** (transmission from one partner to the other), etc.

To get a proper cure therefore, you need to deal with all of the above, not just your medication. In particular, having regular *** while one of you has an infection will mean that it will be almost impossible to cure it.

You must abstain from sexual *********** until your (or your partner’s) yeast infection is totally cured, meaning the root cause not just the symptoms. Of course it would be better if your cure is very fast as well as permanent!

Over-the-counter and prescription medication work well enough for most men, but, many men find that their treatment takes a long time, or, the symptoms go away only to return again.

Also, these treatments are largely drug-based, which many men don’t like because they can have side-effects, and, the Candida can build-up a resistance to them. The result? Recurring penile yeast infection.

You can use home remedies which, while they can provide some relief from penile yeast infection, are only part of the solution.

So many men have turned to a 100% natural regime that has provided them with a fast, safe, permanent cure, allowing them to get on with their lives and relationships, free from worry and stress.

You can discover exactly how they succeeded where you may have failed, by going here http://yeast-infection-men.blogspot.com and you could be getting complete relief from your penile yeast infection in as little as 12 hours from now.

Reoccuring Yeast Infection – Tips to Treat a Re-occuring yeast infection

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On August - 30 - 20091 COMMENT
Are you familiar with the itching, burning, painful sensations associated with a reoccuring yeast infection? Are you sick and tired of it and just want it gone? If so I have some natural help with 3 tips to treat them and how to stop them from reoccuring.

Step #1 – Avoid Tight Pants and Underwear - Yeast loves to thrive in high moisture, hot environments. So what better place to colonize than your ******* area! If you happen to wear tight jeans or underwear made out of synthetic fibers you’re taking an unnecessary risk of developing a yeast infection. Swimwear also counts and is easily the worst as it is tight and keeps moisture in, as well most pools use chlorine which will only further worsen your infection because it kills off the beneficial bacteria needed to protect your ****** from yeast.

Step #2 – Stop the Sugar! – Yeast require sugar to complete their fermentation process and further develop. If you cut out all forms of sugar including carbohydrates, you give yourself the leading edge over a yeast infection and in many cases can cut its duration in half.

Step #3 – Eat unsweetened Yogurt - Yogurt is very popularly advertised now for its beneficial bacterial strain known as Acidophilus. This good bacteria will actually destroy yeast cells and in many cases yeast infections will occur from a lack of this bacteria.

If you completely want to stop experiencing reoccuring yeast infections, then you will need to also address other underlying causes such as drugs like birth control pills which can fluctuate your hormones and cause the infections. As well improper vaginal pH through the use of feminine hygiene products can create a chronic cycle of reoccuring yeast infections.

Click Here to Discover how I cured my Vaginal Yeast Infection in less than 12 hours without the use of harmful drugs (MONISTAT), antibiotics or expensive supplements!

Infant Yeast Infection

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On August - 30 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
You may not know it but there is an infant yeast infection. Any baby can get an infant yeast infection which commonly occurs in the moist diaper area. Infant yeast infection is possible because the infection can be transmitted through child birth if the mother is infected with yeast. Infant yeast infections can also be caused by the mother failing to keep female infants clean in the vaginal area. Infant yeast infections also can be caused by inappropriate bathing of the child. An infant yeast infection will typically start out like a diaper rash, but it won’t go away and it won’t heal like a diaper rash.

It can sometimes be difficult to tell the difference between infant yeast infection or diaper rash. That does not eliminate infant yeast infection as the diaper area is often affected. The second most common form of infant yeast infection is oral thrush in the infant’s mouth. An infant yeast infection can happen on the skin, such as in the folds of skin in the diaper area that remain moist all of the time and see little air flow. During the birthing process, a mother may pass the yeast in her ****** to the baby’s skin, causing an infant yeast infection. Also, if the baby ***** his or her thumb or fingers, an infant yeast infection of the cuticles can develop. However, if an infant yeast infection does ensue no matter how careful the caregivers are, there are several ways in which the pediatrician will treat the infection. In the case of infant yeast infection in the diaper area, a special topical ointment will be prescribed, along with directions to keep the diaper off the baby as much as possible to increase the passage of air and allow the infant yeast infection to dry up on its own.

The plastic covers that some babies wear over their reusable diapers are a really bad idea for an infant yeast infection, because the plastic is a moisture barrier, and that is precisely the opposite of how to treat an infant yeast infection. Generally, though, yeast infections, particularly infant yeast infections, are most likely in those who have a weak immune system to begin with. In other words, an infant yeast infection is most likely to develop in the sickly child. Also a baby on antibiotics is more susceptible since the medication will kill the healthy bacteria that help to keep down an infant yeast infection. You should take a baby to the doctor to have an infection properly diagnosed especially if you haven’t dealt with an infection of this kind before. If the same child has a recurrent problem of yeast infections then perhaps your doctor can help with some suggestions on how you canprevent an infant yeast infection.

Infant

Typical yeast infection in infants is thrush. It is a condition where you can find white patches and sore in the infant’s mouth. There is nothing more sad than an infant in distress, and an infant with a yeast infection is the same. Since a yeast infection spreads through an infant’s digestive tract, a yeast infection can involve the mouth (thrush) and the diaper area. Try looking at your infant’s diaper rash to find out if the rash has lots of bumps, pus-filled bumps, or a pattern. If you are worried and a first-time parent, by all means, have the infant’s doctor take a look at the rash. If your infant does in fact, have a yeast infection, your doctor will most likely recommend any of numerous over-the-counter (cream) remedies for anti-fungal purposes.

Symptoms

In some instances, the infant or child could experience full blown systemic-candidiasis-symptoms. However to those that suffer from the symptoms of a candida infection, the pain and effect on their lifestyle is very real. It is our hope that one day, candida will be recognized as the menace it is, so that all can be free of the debilitating symptoms and confusion it inflicts on the lives of those who suffer from it. Yeast infections generally include a variety of symptoms; redness, dryness, burning, and itching.

Cause Of Yeast Infection

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On August - 30 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
The cause of yeast infection is linked directly to an imbalance of the fungus Candida albicans. To help prevent and cure this though, the first thing that should be known is, what is the cause of yeast infection. Well, to begin with it should be stated that there is no one cause of yeast infection, there are many and they run the gamut from simple stress in life to hormonal changes to transference through sexual ***********. And since there is no actual one cause of yeast infection that can be pinpointed and isolated to avoid getting a yeast infection, it is best if you can be aware of most of them.

One of cause of yeast infection is if you take antibiotics. Another cause of yeast infection occurs due to stress. This same hormonal change is a prime factor in the cause of yeast infection of pregnant or lactating women, and women who are menopausal. For men, the most common cause of yeast infection is through sexual *********** with a woman affected with a yeast infection.

Other factors that can be a major cause of yeast infection in women include the use of douches, scented feminine hygiene products, feminine sprays, and the regular use of spermicides. Another cause of yeast infection that is largely overlooked is clothing. Close fitting clothes keep air from circulating around the affected areas and create the warm, moist environment that yeast needs to grow. There is no doubting the fact that preventing yeast infection is much better than curing it, which means one should know what the cause of yeast infection is and act in an appropriate manner to avoid the disease from affecting one, rather than not pay enough attention and then run about looking for ways to treat the disease.

If it is vaginal yeast infection that one is concerned about, the cause of yeast infection is certainly attributable to Candida Albicans which is a nasty organism that live in the ****** and if it is allowed to multiply will cause yeast infection in the ******. Even use of condoms while having sexual *********** can result in vaginal yeast infection. Even if one does try and reduces yeast products in one’s diet, there is still no clinching evidence to suggest that doing so will prevent yeast infection. Yet another cause of yeast infection is not having proper personal hygiene, the presence of moisture is also what the microorganisms need to thrive in and thus a woman having menstrual periods would be more likely to suffer from yeast infection.

Use of some agents that are especially irritating such as bubble baths, vaginal *******. In addition, certain soaps that are of harsh nature and even toilet paper that has been perfumed, some detergents that are used to wash undergarments can also become a cause of yeast infection. Also, washing of the vaginal area more than is necessary and that with tap water will make for another cause of yeast infection. Thus, there is a pressing need to identify the basic cause of yeast infection so as to make it considerably easier to prevent and also cure the disease from developing further.

The most common cause of yeast infection is antibiotics and their overuse. The most common foods that can be a cause of yeast infections in America are beef and dairy. Other foods that can be a cause of yeast infections are grain foods, peanuts, corn, and red apples, which will actually grow mold on them as they grow. If I were to find one word that would encompass all of these terms – yeast, Candida Albicans, fungus, parasites, mushrooms, overgrowth – the cause of yeast infection would be TOXINS. Knowing the cause of yeast infection helps us understand why our body may exhibit symptoms of diseases. Effective yeast infection prevention begins with knowing what can cause of yeast infection.

Yeast Infection Causes – Treatment and Prevention

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On August - 29 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
What is Yeast Infection?

Yeast is a fungus scientifically referred to as Candida. The specific type of fungus most commonly responsible for vaginitis is Candida albicans. Yeast is commonly present on normal human skin and in areas of moisture, such as the mouth and ******.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that about 80 percent of all women will experience a vaginal yeast infection at least once in their lives. In fact, it is estimated that 50% of college women in the United States have been diagnosed with at least one yeast infection by the age of 25. Luckily, yeast infections are fairly easy to treat.

Yeast infection itself is not considered as highly dangerous, however, it can be very irritating and disturbing especially among women who are already preoccupied with other responsibilities or tasks. On the other hand, like most infections, it is highly transferable to other individuals including the opposite ***. Certain conditions of the body may make it easier for a person to acquire this disease such as diabetes and use of antibiotics.

Other health problems which are usually associated with yeast infection include urinary tract infections and possible complications during pregnancy. However, these are not scientifically-based and are yet to be proven or negated in future studies.

What causes Yeast Infection?

Most yeast infections are caused by a type of yeast called Candida albicans.

A healthy ****** has many bacteria and a small number of yeast cells. The most common bacteria, Lactobacillus acidophilus, help keep other organisms-like the yeast-under control.

When something happens to change the balance of these organisms, yeast can grow too much and cause symptoms. Taking antibiotics sometimes causes this imbalance. The high estrogen levels caused by pregnancy or hormone replacement therapy can also cause it. So can certain health problems, like diabetes or HIV infection.

Symptoms

Symptoms include severe itching, burning, and soreness, irritation of the ****** and/or vulva, and a whitish or whitish-gray discharge, often with a curd-like appearance.

Many women mistake the symptoms of the more common bacterial vaginosis for a yeast infection. In a 2002 study published in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, only 33 percent of women who were self treating for a yeast infection actually had a yeast infection. Instead they had either bacterial vaginosis or a mixed-type infection.

In men, symptoms include red patchy sores near the head of the ***** or on the foreskin, severe itching and/or a burning sensation. Yeast infection in men can also have a white discharge, although uncommon. However, having no symptoms at all is common and usually, a more severe form of the symptoms emerge later.

What are the treatments for Yeast Infection?

Various oral medications such as Diflucan or fluconazole and topical treatments may be prescribed by doctors to cure yeast infection. Home remedies such as using yogurt and garlic, whether internally and externally, can also be done. It is, however, important to consult a doctor first prior to applying any of the available remedies to avoid complications and further harm.

Yeast Infection Prevention

Once you’ve had a yeast infection, you’ll probably never want it again. Unfortunately, yeast infections do tend to recur. To help lower your chances of experiencing another yeast infection, or to prevent getting one in the first place, here are some things you can do:

* Consider taking a daily supplement designed to help prevent the recurrence of a yeast infection

* Keep you vaginal area clean, being sure to wash the area when you shower

* After a shower or bath, make sure your vaginal area is completely dry before getting dressed

Yeast Infection Book Review – How To Cure Yeast Infections Book Review

Posted by Yeast Infection Expert On August - 28 - 2009ADD COMMENTS
So I consider myself quite the online book reading aficionado, I own "real" books but I find at the end of the day when it comes down to it, I would rather cuddle up with my lap top and read anything and everything I can find online. It’s great also for those times when I need some help with something. As in my case, I doubt most people have yeast infection self help guides sitting around, neither do I.

Which Brings me to my Review of How to Cure Vaginal Yeast Infections

I settled on purchasing the online E-Book How to Cure Vaginal Yeast Infections at the website HowtoCureYeastInfecitons dot com after not being satisfied with many of the others I came across. She had quite a few ebooks added in with the purchase free of charge as well which was nice and I’m sure I’ll get around to them soon enough. She also claims 24/7 professional 1 on 1 online help which I planned on testing out to see how much truth there was to this.

It was Everything I ever wanted to know about Yeast Infections and More, what FUN! Haha.

I’m happy to say that this is not only the best e-book I read through in a while but also the most surprisingly pleasant experience I’ve had yet with an online purchase especially considering I was going through a yeast infection at the time. The reason for this was the customer support Jessica provides. I asked her about anything and everything I could think of, and she always seemed to have the perfect response and not only did she answer me every time within just a few hours, but she truly seemed to want to help me and wanted to make sure I was recovering. In a time when many people would have been all too happy to make a buck with no strings attached, Jessica seems to almost enjoy doing the 1 on 1 consultations, or at least that was the impression she left with me.

The book itself was great too, as far as treating vaginal yeast infection books go. It was cleanly laid out so I could easily reference anything inside, and the information was straightforward and easy to understand as well. She provides the full explanation of the various modern yeast infection treatments such as drugs, she analyses the causes and most importantly explains the natural treatments which make up a greater part of the book and is the reason I bought it in the first place. She also includes a very detailed diet and lifestyle suggestions on exactly what to avoid doing in order to not further worsen the infection and to not experience another one down the road. As well there is a section in there specifically for oral, skin, nail and baby yeast infections.

The only downside if any, is that her section on pregnant women experiencing yeast infections is limited in use. However this is understandably more to do with the fact that no one wants to risk suggesting treatments that have unknown consequences to a developing fetus, although she still tries to make the most of it by maximizing what suggestions she can. So it is still of some use to women in this situation, besides you can always just use her 24/7 support and get your answers that way.

All in all between asking a few questions and using the suggestions in her book I achieved complete success over my yeast infection within 3 days of buying the book. However I only really started treating myself a day after reading through it so technically it only took me 2 days for total relief and by using some of their suggested treatments to reduce the symptoms I only really suffered through the worst of it for about 3-4 hours before using them.

Overall between the excellent professional online support Jessica provides and the very effective and easy to use book I give the whole package a 9.5/10. I highly recommend it to anyone suffering through a vaginal yeast infection as it will help get you want you want, relief! I’ll also mention here that the author has a male yeast infection guide as well which although I didn’t read through still comes with the 1 on 1 consultation support so I imagine men could find quite a bit of relief through that e-book as well. Happy Yeast Eliminating!
